The California Valley Miwok Tribe, having a long history with and whose official tribal flag proudly flies within its halls, received recent correspondence from the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian.

The California Valley Miwok Tribe has a long history working with Native Veterans and Veterans groups within San Joaquin County. Due to the tribes commitment, the tribe wanted to extend this invitation to all in the Washington DC area or any who are on travel and may want to attend.

The correspondence is an invitation is for a celebration for the “National Native American Veterans Memorial“.

The event will be held: Thursday, November 8th, 2018 at 7 P.M. At the National Museum of the American Indian 4th Street and Independence Avenue, SW Washington, DC.

There is a long and proud history of Native Americans serving in all branches of the American armed forces. Native Americans also have the highest degree of enlistment per their population of all ethnic groups within the United States.
“All Sacrificed, Some Sacrificed All”.

That makes this endeavor a worthwhile undertaking, with groundbreaking scheduled for September 2019 and Memorial Dedication scheduled for Veterans Day 2020.
