On Friday, December 23rd, 2022, the California Valley Miwok Tribe delivered the year ends last distribution for 2022.
Due to the fact that is the last distribution, in the most festive of season’s there was an abundance of everything.
This included soda, pie mixes, cakes and cake mixes, additional amounts of vegetables, potato mixes, frozen dinner, noodle and seafood items along with gifts, “a few on display in the photographs accompanying this story”.

It was a very good distribution and there is enough that everyone will get some level of assistance out of this to help with their holidays but the tribe wishes it could do more.

The tribe however is faced with another poorly thought out and ill conceived theft attempt by the local Bureau of Indian Affairs Central California Agency.
The insulting thing is the timing of this action which commenced during Native American Heritage Month and runs right through the holidays all the way to the second week of the new year.

The tribe is thankful for the chance to litigate, as the two Bureau officials on the online conference explaining where they get their authority to do so, do not have a clue and are about the two most intellectually ungifted people that you may ever be unfortunate enough to meet.

The government over this matter is so disingenuous that we were even requested to attend and filled out the proper forms to represent at the White House Tribal Nations Summit. Really while attempting the theft of the very tribe you recognize to represent before all other nations and the President of the United States?

Of course we did not attend due to the lack of funding, what little we have is to be spent on better things than hypocrisy.

No video this month as Mildred was in a joyful and festive mood and did not want to think of the wasteful carbon footprint we call the BIA.

When asked our elder stated, “I just want to enjoy Christmas and the holidays with tribal families and friends and not think about the BIA and their egregious
atrocities against the tribe because they just make me sick”.

The very department that says their mission is to enhance the quality of life, to promote economic opportunity and to carry out the responsibility to protect and improve the trust assets of American Indians, Indian tribes and Alaskan Natives.

These are just about the most inept failures of human existence as they could not have done a worse job if they were Vladimir Putin.

Look forward to litigations in the new year in hopes that the battles for rights, sovereignty and freedom may someday benefit some other tribe from the same circumstance or fate.

We however will in spite of all this have a great Christmas and joyful holidays amongst our tribal brethren and hope that all of you have a “Very Merry Christmas” and a, “Happy New Year”.

To all the good people, organization’s, institutions, governmental departments and to those listed below that have supported us throughout 2022,
