The California Valley Miwok Tribe (CVMT) received a letter and a flyer from the California Indian Culture and Sovereignty Center in regards to the Pechanga Development Corporation hosting an upcoming Charity Golf Tournament to raise matching funds for the California Indian Culture and Sovereignty Center (CICSC) at California State University San Marcos.

The mission of the CICSC is to foster collaborative research and community service relationships between the faculty, staff, and students of CSU San Marcos and members of California Tribal communities, for the purpose of developing and conducting research projects that support the maintenance of sovereignty and culture within those communities. In addition, the CICSC is in its final year to match funding awarded by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. Every dollar raised at the Golf Tournament supports the research, community outreach, and student-work positions at the CICSC.
