This legal briefing is being posted to answer the many inquiries the Tribe has received in recent months regarding this matter.
As to the Tribe’s current situation because of this matter, the Tribe’s members have and continue to suffer immeasurably, lacking all basic services, financial compensation for fulfillment of their duties and currently defending themselves and their government from imminent eviction.
The Tribe prays that they will be afforded some sort of relief over what it believes are the wrongful and continuing illegal actions perpetrated against them by the California Gambling Control Commission, acting outside any authority given to it by the 1999 state gaming compacts.
