The California Valley Miwok Tribe held the March USDA Distribution on Monday the 16th, 2020. March continued to be a very good month for the tribe not just through this service but also politically and legally as the tribe continues to make great strides in protecting its sovereignty.
Although this month was another milestone in this long running program, the tribe is fearful of what the current pandemic may mean in the immediate in maintaining services. The tribe will not endanger its citizens, contributors, volunteers or State mandated orders or take any other actions that may endanger the health or welfare of participants.
Hopefully, there will be better news on the horizon but until then, the California Valley Miwok Tribe will initiate safety first practices as to not contribute to an already growing problem.
We also wish all well and pray for relief of this scourge virus so that no more American citizens may fall ill to its effects.
The California Valley Miwok Tribe would like to thank The Tule River Tribe and its Food Distribution Department and our good friend Specialist Mr. Ronald Buckman for deliveries and his continued service to this program and our tribe.
