January 2021 Food For Tribal Families Distribution

On Wednesday, January 27th, 2021, the California Valley Miwok Tribe Food For Tribal Families program made its first distribution of the year. With the help of volunteers and donations, this program has helped to address needs left unmet by the failure of the local BIA in addressing their trust responsibilities.

Every federally recognized citizen of the tribe has greatly benefited from this in house program that the tribe initiated in order to assist in its citizen families unmet nutritional needs.

The program has enjoyed continual success since 2016 with donations and assistance growing ever larger and with occasionally added fresh fruit and personal items.

This delivery was abundant with many giving just after the holidays, helping the tribe to help its citizens in a way we could not do alone. To all not individually listed below, know that we are thankful and will always be grateful for your generosity to our people.

A special thank you to the United States Department of Agriculture, Walmart Stores Inc., Food For Less Stores Inc., the community of Morada and its surrounding areas, and our Program Director, Mildred Burley.
