Arizona State University (ASU) and Native American Financial Officers Association (NAFOA) In-Classroom Tribal Financial Manager Certificate Program.

The California Valley Miwok Tribe (CVMT) received a flyer from the Arizona State University, located in Tempe, Arizona regarding the upcoming ‘In-Classroom’ program for Tribal Government Financial Managers.

Registration began on November 1, 2013 and will continue to be accepted. The Tribal Financial Manager Certificate Program course classes are January 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, 2014, at the Arizona State University (Tempe Campus), Tempe, Arizona. The Fee is $1,600 (includes registration and all course materials).

Participants who complete the certificate program will learn: Principles of federal Indian Law and how they affect tribal financial management, Federal Accounting standards and principles, How to comply with Office of Management and Budget circulars A-102; A-87; and A-133, Developing and using internal financial and program controls, Government fund accounting systems, Self-Determination and Self-Governance financial compliance and record keeping, How federal, state and tribal taxation affect tribal financial management, including development of a RAP, and Key tools for developing and managing a budget.
