The California Valley Miwok Tribe (CVMT) received a flyer regarding an upcoming “5th Tribal Land Staff National Conference” to be held at the Pala Casino Spa and Resort in Pala California, March 24th-26th, 2015.

What:
5th Tribal Land Staff National Conference

The Indian Land Forum was developed to provide a secure place for tribal land professionals, to share resources, discuss relevant topics and network with their peers throughout Indian Country. As Tribes continue to effectively manage their land and natural resources, the need for education and sharing of information between Indian nations is greater than ever. The National Tribal Land Association (NTLA) seeks to work in harmony with tribal nations to create opportunities for land and natural resources staff working in land related areas to learn, share and network with their colleagues from other tribes to expand their knowledge and skills related to the many facets of land ownership and management on our reservations.

Where:
Pala Casino Spa and Resort, 11154 Hwy 76, Pala, California 92059

When:
March 24th-26th, 2015

Connect with other tribal land professionals for three days of informative sessions and networking opportunities. Attendees will: Learn how tribes are protecting and managing Indian lands; Discover options for handling challenging land office operations; Hear more on the implementation of the Land Buy-Back Program for Tribal Nations; and Share commonalities and differences on fee-to-trust, leasing and other business transactions.
