This month’s USDA Food Distribution was held by the California Valley Miwok Tribe on Thursday, October 21st, 2021.
There was a break in the weather and on this day a clear and sunny day in the middle of the first real rain storm of the year.
This pretty much put an end to existing fires but before it is all over will bring about the threat of flooding and mudslides in vulnerable areas throughout California.
The tribe prays for the relief of those victimized by the previous devastation and hopes that they are somehow spared from the ravages the oncoming storm may bring.
The promised stimulus monies actually being received by those in dire need would be a nice start, even if in insufficient amounts the effort would be appreciated by those so affected.
We would like to thank the United States Department of Agriculture, the Tule River Tribe, The Tule River Tribe Food Distribution Department and Specialists Ronald Buckman and Naz for their unwavering commitment in serving the indigenous community.
Thank you,
