The California Valley Miwok Tribe held the October USDA Food Distribution on Monday, October 19th, 2020. At the time of this writing although there are still evacuations due to raging fires and social unrest with continued protests and yes confirmed rioting, those stories though they affect many in the immediate have been overtaken by political and legal news that will affect us all far into the future.
Social distancing and personal safety precautions are probably the most important disciplines that we individually should practice along with personal nutrition to strengthen our bodies and keep up our immune systems.
To that we thank the USDA for this sorely needed program that benefits all of Indian Country. We also thank the Tule River Tribe and its Food Distribution Department for running the hub, warehousing and being the deliverer of this program to all that receive USDA services under them.
We have had this program for over ten years and have developed a lot of lasting relationships with those that we had served, those we currently serve
and the staff of the Tule River Food Distribution Department whose commitment to address the nutritional needs of the indigenous community has had
an everlasting effect.
A special thanks to specialists Ronald Buckman and Naz.
