Food For Tribal Families Director and California Valley Miwok's Tribal Elder, Mildred Burley stands with the January delivery that will go out to the tribes federally recognized citizen families.

On Friday, January 31st, 2020, The California Miwok Tribe made its monthly delivery to the Food For Tribal Families, (FFTF) Director, Mildred Burley to distribute allotments among its various tribal families and citizens.

This ongoing program is the current revelation of its predecessor that was started three years ago through volunteer work and corporate and individual public donations. This program has been bringing much needed assistance to tribal families, initiated by the tribal government to off set the erroneous actions of the local Central California Agency-Bureau of Indian Affairs and their Superintendent. The local (CCA-BIA) continually have failed in their trust responsibilities and willingly continue to do so in deference to the tribe and its federally recognized native people.

The tribe however grows stronger and less dependent on the failings of the local bureau due to community outreach and partnerships with local businesses, community organizers, volunteers and the local supporters from the community of Morada. The tribe, even though recently relocated, still enjoys all of these existing relationships and through them continues to provide this program.

At this time, we would like to thank Walmart Stores Inc, Food For Less Inc, the citizens of Morada Ca. and all of the organizers and volunteers who make this program possible.

Also a special thank you to our (FFTF) Director and tribal elder, Mildred Burley

Thank you,
The California Valley Miwok Tribe
