“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”
— Albert Schweitzer

The California Valley Miwok Tribe wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the Jackson Band of Miwuk Indians (Jackson Rancheria) for giving our staff a holiday gift basket. This gesture of kindness is most welcomed especially since our dedicated staff had no gift to open on Christmas. This unexpected present brings smiles to our faces, hope to our hearts, and cheerful anticipation for Christmas day.

For years our Tribe has been suffering financial hardships. With no funds to purchase any Christmas gifts, it was quite a surprise to see a package delivered to the Tribal Office, addressed to the California Valley Miwok Tribe Staff. To all at the Jackson Band of Miwuk Indians (Jackson Rancheria), thank you for remembering your sister Miwok Tribe. In our time of despair, you have brought joy. The coldness of the winter season somehow seems to have surrounded our Tribe with warmth.

The California Valley Miwok Tribe is very thankful for the kindness your have shown us. Many blessings to you for your actions in making the upcoming Christmas holiday a cheerful one.
