The California Valley Miwok Tribe received Covid supply shipments this month on behalf of numerous requests from its citizen families for resupply and restock due to new surges and variants continuing to make this the predominant health issue.
The science is all over the board and experts seem to change opinions exasperatingly. Even though vaccinations and even once having Covid creating your own antibodies is supposed to decrease severity, our tribal body still takes every precaution available to avoid our citizens becoming sick at all because of the risks that still exist even with the mildest of symptoms.
We received our first shipment from the California Office of Emergency Services on September 1st just days after placing our order. This department of dedicated people are amazing how quickly they address needs and requests, especially with all the other environmental issues and wildfires that are currently plaguing our state. Delays were expected but never materialized, and we thank them for their quick service and dedication.
A second shipment arrived on September 7th, which included product from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in an effort to further shore up supplies to protect our tribal citizens until such time, as the current Covid surge and California wildfires hopefully dissipate and all of us as California citizens get a little more normalcy in our lives.
We would like to thank the California Office of Emergency Services and the Federal Emergency Management Agency for their service and dedication especially in this time of great need by so many throughout this state and country.
