This month’s California Valley Miwok Tribal USDA Food Distribution was held on Monday, September 19th, 2023.
Weather was sunny and mild with a flowing breeze making for a very comfortable event.
There was an abundance of food, and as the economy is under crippling interest rates and soaring gas prices, access to this program in addressing the nutritional needs of the participating families was greatly appreciated.
Everything was in abundance as with previous distributions, but it seems that the Walleye, which is a very flavorful fish from very northern regions of the United States and whose boneless filets have almost a sweetness, are now a staple of these distributions.
At this time, we have yet to know what nefarious and illegal actions of attempted tribe stealing the local BIA and specifically minor official Carol Rogers-Davis and her cohort Superintendent Harley Long are up to due to transparency issues and failure to respond timely to the many legal requests put before them by the tribe’s legal representation.
Although frustrating, this apparent illegal attempt at seizure of our sovereignty and the incompetence and unorthodox way in which it is being conducted continues to strengthen the tribe’s position and the legal retaliation that is soon to befall them.
In the case of Deb Haaland and Bryan Newland on this matter, they have already shown themselves to be incongruous of the professionalism and leadership that was expected of them.
At this time though, the tribe would like to thank the professionalism, the adhering to procedure and to the respect shown to our sovereign status of those listed below in the conducting of government to government relations between the tribe and their respective departments.
