On Friday, July 18, 2014, the California Valley Miwok Tribe held its monthly USDA Food Distribution.

Each month, qualified participating households receive a USDA food allotment to help them maintain a nutritionally balanced diet.

An example of the foods that recipients receive are: frozen packaged chicken, frozen beef roast, canned beef stew, canned fruits, canned green beans, canned corn, canned diced tomatoes, boxed mushroom soup, block cheese, macaroni, beans, rice, lowfat milk, flour, cornmeal, bakery mix, crackers, corn flakes, dehydrated instant potatoes, can tomato soup, dry egg mix, cranberry-apple juice, orange juice, dried plums, raisins, and unsalted peanuts.
