The California Valley Miwok Tribe‘s first USDA Distribution of the year was held on Monday, January 22nd, 2024, at the tribal offices located in La Grange, California. This begins our 15th year of offering this service in working with the United States Department of Agriculture and the Tule River Tribe who are our program providers.
This service was initiated in 2009 to help to meet the nutritional needs of our duly enrolled citizens and qualified applicants in Indian country that reside within our service area in which we have the authority to assist under our sovereign federal authority as program providers.
That authority seems to be lost on local superintendent Haley Long who has made one too many a trip to the buffet table to feed upon our sovereignty.
Next month, the tribe will be initiating action that will help Mr. Long to tighten his over stretched belt.
Superintendent Harley Long also in gloating fashion seems to now be happy that he manipulated a very naïve and young enrollee of the tribe to join in his fictitious and illegal attempt to reorganize an already organized tribe in detriment to her own tribal rights.
This citizen was assisted through the tribal process without much understanding of how her actual rights and qualifications in regards to the enrollment and certification of her citizenship worked and has been out of contact with her tribe and so became easy prey for Mr. Long.
The most disgusting actions long ago by the federal government was to try and make contact with any Native American within a region and then have them sign away their tribal rights as a single individual and even though non-representative of their tribe the government then used that swindling trickery to steal native lands and remove whole people that resided there.
Superintendent Harley Long now representing the government demonstrates his deviousness in reinitiating this repugnant action and gloating to the tribe that somehow trying to trick a citizen out of her own rights is somehow a conquest or major victory and is a good thing.
He thinks that as an individual in the Burley bloodline that this somehow establishes tribal or even family participation in his nefarious scheme.
This young and naïve tribal citizen has no authority and holds no office within the tribe and so if involved only represents herself as an individual.
Also as a Burley, it just happens to refer to her descendance, it is not the, (Burley Tribe), it is the, (California Valley Miwok Tribe) and individuals of Burley
descendance just happen to be one of many families that are enrolled in and recognized as citizens of the tribe.
Mr. Long also thinks this somehow addresses legal issues and including and dating back to the ill conceived 2015 Washburn decision, it does not.
Superintendent Haley Long ever the fool reckless and careless in his actions and ever flaunting his folly will soon be held to a higher power for his nefarious actions and deceitful practices.
This will all start to become apparent next month.
