On September 26th, 2017, the California Valley Miwok Tribe conducted its Food for Tribal Families (FFTF) program in its continuing effort to thwart consequences concerning poor nutrition brought about by inadequate assistance by the local BIA.
Since the initiation of this program by tribal officials as a periodic or one time assist to tribal families, the Tribe has seen the local community of Morada actually show much more concern than many a government official.
This month when the Tribe’s nutritional plight was brought to the attention of a local Wal-Mart Superstore the Tribe was pleased that a donation was made to the tribe at the direction of that stores management, making available in this month’s deliveries frozen meat products.
This month the Tribe made the initial delivery and tribal elder Mildred Burley divided the distributions among the needy tribal families. We would like to thank the community of Morada, CA, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., and tribal elder Mildred Burley for making the month of September the most successful in 2017.
