On Tuesday, August 21st, 2012, the California Valley Miwok Tribe held its monthly USDA Food Distribution. Many of our participants are currently experiencing transportation and financial difficulties. Therefore, CVMT again took it upon itself to temporarily store recipients’ allotments throughout the Tribal Offices for later pick up. The California Valley Miwok Tribe began their partnership regarding the USDA Food Distribution on Indian Reservations (FDIR) program with the Tule River Reservation three (3) years ago, and the program has been a blessing for the always-grateful recipients ever since.
It is a pleasure to work with the Tule River Rancheria and its USDA Food Distribution Indian Reservations (FDIR) Program; Mr. Richard McDarment, USDA FDIR Director, Mrs. Patricia Salas, USDA FDIR Intake Manager, Mr. Jesus Salas, USDA FDIR Staff, and Mr. Ronald Buckman, USDA FDIR Staff & driver. Thank you all for your unwavering dedication for the continued success of this food program and for addressing the nutritional needs of the Native American community.
