On Tuesday, May 29, 2012, the California Valley Miwok Tribe met with the Honorable Chairman Mr. Gary W. Archuleta, of the Mooretown Rancheria. The meeting was held at the CVMT Tribal Offices located in Stockton, California.
Earlier this month, Chairman Archuleta wrote a letter to tribes throughout California concerning an issue that will affect all tribes directly. CVMT responded by inviting Chairman Archuleta to the Tribal Offices to discuss mutual issues as well as concerns as identified in his correspondence. It was agreed that one particular issue at hand will have a great impact on sovereign tribal nations, especially within California. Therefore, the California Valley Miwok Tribe assured Chairman Archuleta of our full support.
The California Valley Miwok Tribe would like to thank Chairman Mr. Gary W. Archuleta and the Mooretown Rancheria for the visit at the Tribal Offices and for bringing important current issues to our attention. Also, the Tribe is grateful that Chairman Archuleta took it upon himself to personally drive from Oroville to our Stockton Tribal Offices to meet with CVMT Tribal Officials on this day.
