On Tuesday, September 18th, 2012, CVMT held its monthly USDA Food Distribution. Tiger Paulk, CVMT Tribal Staffer, assisted Tule River staffer Mr. Ronald Buckman and Mr. Jesus Salas load the carts with boxes of food for recipients to pick up. Attendees have expressed their gratitude for the USDA Food Program, especially since food and gas prices are climbing ever higher.
With the fall and winter months approaching, many recipients are finding themselves stretching their ‘already stretched’ limited income to cover their monthly bills and necessities. Without the monthly USDA Food Program, many of the recipients would find themselves going hungry before the end of each month.
