On Monday July 23rd 2018, the California Valley Miwok Tribe delivered this month’s ( FFTF ) Food For Tribal Families distribution to its director Mildred Burley, for the distribution to all of the recognized member families of the tribe.
Along with all that was included in this month’s distribution was an increase in donated frozen meats from Walmart Stores Inc. With just a little over seventy pounds in total donated, the tribe would especially like to thank them for their generosity.
The tribe would also like to thank the town of Morada and it’s surrounding community for whom without their involvement this program would not be possible.
We would especially like to thank our tribal elder Mildred Burley for undertaking the task to distribute locally even overcoming earlier health issues in doing so.
Mildred has been especially busy throughout July working with and attending activities with tribal families, increasing the range of her artistry and even championing at hand game competitions and donating all proceeds to the tribe in addressing tribal financial shortfalls.
We are truly blessed to have an elder that can still do so much when needed.
