The California Valley Miwok Tribe received an invitation to attend the American Indian Motion Picture Awards Show and Gala 40 Dinner, to be held on November 14, 2015, in San Francisco, California. Participants will include:

HOSTS

TONANTZIN CARMELO
She is an award-winning multifacted actor, cast in Westerns, Science Fiction and everything in between. Her diverse body of work includes lead and supporting roles in over a dozen indie feature films with festival favorites Imprint, Unearthed, and Shouting Secrets.

MICHAEL SPEARS
Michael’s first role was in the film Dances With Wolves and has appeared in Skins, Into The West, Yellow Rock, guest role on Longmire and in Cyril Morin’s The Activist.

EAGLE SPIRIT RECIPIENTS

ALANIS OBOMSAWIN
One of the most prominent Native Canadian filmmakers, Obomsawin has directed more than 40 films over 40 years chronicling the lives of aboriginal people in Canada.

WINONA LaDUKE
She is the Executive Director of Honor the Earth, where she works on a national level to advocate, raise public support and create funding for frontline native environmental groups.

STARRING

BUFFY SAINTE-MARIE
Buffy Sainte-Marie, Cree singer-songwriter, activist, educator, visual artist and winner of countless awards (Oscar, Juno, and Golden Globe.)

PRIMEAUX & MIKE
The duo have released 19 recordings and are 5 time Native American Music Award, 1 time NAIRD Award and 2 time Grammy Award winners.

MURRAY PORTER
The Mohawk piano player from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory brings his culture and history to the masses through his music.

JAMES AND ERNIE
James and Ernie have been presenting and performing comedy with a positive message throughout Native America and even making their way into Canada to perform their hilarious take on Native American life and current affairs.

SWIL KANIM
Swil Kanim, a classically trained violinist, native storyteller, actor and a member of the Lummi Nation.
