We start our best August coverage with a first for a Native astronaut. Nicole Aunapu Mann will be making history as the first Native woman to fly into space this fall. ICT Editor Jourdan Bennett-Begaye caught up with Mann to talk space and beyond. READ MORE.

In South Dakota, ICT learned that Red Cloud Indian School will dig for graves. The announcement came after a search with ground-penetrating radar was inconclusive about whether remains might be under what is now a concrete slab in a corner of the large basement.
